In 2003, Hitclips Telephone: Backstreet Boys - The Call - This HitClips phone was a great gift for middle school-aged marathon talkers. It was a lot of fun and, at 3 inches, is probably one of the tiniest phones ever made. Like all HitClips music players, it comes with a slot that plays an array of interchangeable HitClips music chips (inserted like itty-bitty eight-tracks) for instant jammin'. But it's a phone! It features an ear bud for hearing, a microphone for talking, and a belt clip for hands-free phone use. The button pad also includes redial and flash (for three-way calls). The phone plays music when the phone part is not in use, of course, but also plays for listeners on hold. The music sounds as canny as phone music sounds, but kids won't really care as long as the phone works. At any rate, Backstreet Boys devotees will love singing along to the included "The Call" micro music chip, which plays a full minute of the hit song.

HitClip Groove Machine - The Hit Clips Groove Machine is probably the tiniest karaoke player ever made. Like all HitClips players, it comes with a slot that plays an array of HitClips music chips (inserted like itty-bitty eight-tracks) for instant jammin'. Just like a real karaoke machine, it even has a tiny, real microphone and a sing-along mode button. It also has a play-only mode, mike-only mode, and volume controls. There isn't much difference between high and low volumes, the music sounds more like a small portable radio than karaoke, and the microphone gives more interference than clear amplification, but kids won't really care as long as it plays music. To that end, Pink devotees will love singing along to the included "Most Girls" micro music chip, which plays a full minute of the hit song. Note: This toy contains small parts that may pose a choking hazard for kids under 3 years.
